UNDERSTAND THE DETAILS

What can we say about industry practice?

A documented provider example is useful evidence, but it is not automatically an industry standard.

Mizan separates four kinds of information: general education, a named provider’s published statements, a documented market finding, and information that remains unknown. Each needs a different explanation of its scope.

To describe a practice as typical, a review needs a relevant and sufficiently representative evidence base, a date, and a clear definition of the products being compared. This directory’s 13 candidate profiles are not a statistical sample and do not establish whole-market norms.

We can explain the different published deposit statements or product structures we have checked and show their sources. We cannot turn those examples into a claim that a certain contribution, fee or approval condition is normal across the market.
