UNDERSTAND THE DETAILS
What fees and pricing information should I understand?
Understand the full payment structure and costs across the transaction, not just a headline payment.
A clear cost explanation separates the recurring payment from one-off charges and possible exit costs. For an Islamic structure, ask what each payment represents under the agreement: asset purchase, rent, profit component or a service charge. Do not assume a familiar conventional label maps exactly onto the contract.
Moneysmart’s home-loan guidance explains the importance of comparing fees and features as well as rates. This is general borrowing context, not evidence that a particular Islamic product charges a particular fee.
For commercial finance, ask for a dated written quote covering the whole proposed transaction and each fee recipient. Mizan has not established a reliable market-wide pricing range and will not manufacture one from a few provider pages.
Questions to consider
- What are the total regular payments and all one-off charges?
- What valuation, legal, documentation, administration or exit costs apply, if any?
- Can payments change, how is a change calculated, and who receives each fee?
What this does not establish
Current prices, total costs and applicable fees depend on current product documents and a provider quote; no price is estimated here.
