Start with your goal
Buying a home, growing a business, planning retirement and investing involve different products and different decisions. You can start with what you want to achieve; you do not need to choose a finance structure first.
What does Islamic finance mean?
Islamic finance describes financial products and services designed around Islamic principles. Product structures, governance arrangements and costs vary. A product’s name alone is not evidence of how it works or whether it meets your requirements.
Mizan does not issue religious rulings or independently certify products. Ask for the provider’s current governance documents and the scope of any certification.
Compare the substance
Look at the agreement, total costs, risks and protections. An interest-free description does not mean there are no fees or costs.
- Who is the legal provider or issuer?
- What are your payments and obligations?
- What happens if circumstances change or you exit early?
- Which documents support Sharia-related claims?
- What regulatory protections apply to this particular product?
